About Brother Bear

Brother Bear is a 2003 animated adventure film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation. Set in a beautifully imagined post-Ice Age North America, it tells the story of Kenai, a young man who is transformed into a bear as punishment — and as a lesson.

The film explores themes of brotherhood, empathy, and finding one's true place in the circle of life. It is widely appreciated for its heartfelt narrative, stunning animation, and powerful soundtrack by Phil Collins.

Plot Summary

After the tragic death of his eldest brother Sitka, Kenai seeks revenge on the bear he blames. But when he finally tracks it down, the spirits transform Kenai into a bear himself. Lost and alone, Kenai must navigate the wilderness and learn to see the world through the eyes of the very creature he once hated.

Along the way, he befriends Koda, an energetic bear cub who becomes like a younger brother to him. Together they journey to the mountain where the Northern Lights touch the earth — the only place Kenai can be changed back into a human. Through this adventure, Kenai learns about love, loss, and what it truly means to be a brother.
