Tom Sawyer has a head full of pranks and drives when he invents is not just a new adventure, preferably around with his best buddy Huck Finn - much to the chagrin of his Aunt Polly with Tom and his half-brother Sid in the town of St. Petersburg on the Mississippi river.
A good lean adaptation of the story. All the actors are good, especially Benno Fürmann as Injun Joe. Occasional silliness and the especially anachronistic Louis Armstrong song in a dream sequence are bit distracting - but the movie recovers every time.
Beside there are some different story than the original book and some missing parts, "Tom Sawyer" Germany-version 2011 film is still sweet, lovely and warming as the book does. It can be some noltalgia for whoever loves "Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn" tales.
Nice cinematography, unfortunately a quite uninspired script.
